If you develop applications for clients, you know that projects always start and stop many times before truly kicking-off. You might start by building a prototype or a demo before getting the signoff. As we all know, getting signoff from a client might take a while!
Wouldn't it be nice if you could "park" the application while you're waiting for the approval, the first payment, and the true kickstart of the project?

Well, now you can! Today I am pleased to announce Archived Applications. Archiving an application saves the configuration and state of your deployment, turns your servers off, and puts your application in a state of deep-freeze. You don't pay for Archived Applications, which is great if your project hasn't commenced. Once ready, restore the application, and it comes back to life. It's as simple as that!

Another use for Archived Applications is to use them as "Application Templates": build the entire application setup, archive it and use it as the base to clone more applications, ensuring consistency and best practices across your applications.

As many of our customers are developers and development agencies, we are always looking for ways to help them better assist their clients. Archived Applications are another step towards this goal. Our product roadmap is full of new features to improve performance, increase reliability, and reduce the cost for our customers, and we can't wait to share more of it with you in the coming months.

Archived Applications are available to our Beta Program members from today. If you would like to join our Beta Program, head to your Account page and check the box for Beta Program.

Rock on!
