Cloud 66's mission is to make building servers and running applications simple. We aim to provide enough flexibility for you to benefit from the automation we bring to your infrastructure while at the same time maintaining full control.
What is CustomConfig?
CustomConfig allows you to customize the configuration files used by your application's server components - in particular Nginx, HAProxy and our native database engines (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis etc).
For example: You can use CustomConfig to apply a custom configuration to Nginx across all your servers, like forcing an SSL redirect or banning a specific IP address. CustomConfig gives you a safe, source-controlled method to customize your Nginx configuration without leaving the Cloud 66 environment.
How does it work?
To use CustomConfig with a component, you need to add the component to your application via Add-ins. The component will be provisioned using a generic configuration, which you can then edit via CustomConfig.
CustomConfig is backed by a git repository, hosted by Cloud 66. Files can be edited via the Cloud 66 dashboard or via your usual git flow in the terminal or your favorite git client.
