Welcome to the Cloud 66 Changelog. Please take a quick look at the latest changes that have gone out this week!
GDPR
Cloud 66 will satisfy all requirements of the GDPR, by the 25th of May. For customers who are interested, we can add a Data Processing Annex to the sales agreement/T&Cs through e-signature. We are also happy to provide detailed information, including an FAQ document or customer-specific information, upon request to privacy@cloud66.com.
Server delete (scale-down) workflow improvement
To help you control your infrastructure costs, effective immediately, we will shutdown (stop) servers when you delete them from your stack, if you have opted-in into this process. This is applicable to Maestro, Rails, and Node. The complete scale-down workflow we will perform is as follows:
- Shut down your server NEW
- Remove the server from our records (meaning server information is no longer held)
- Remove the physical server from your cloud within 24 hours (IF you've specified that we should do that)
This is following user feedback—keep it coming!
New PostgreSQL Slave ReSync button & UI
For customers with large databases and high database throughput, network/server operations can result in your slave database going out of sync with your master. We autodetect this and mark your slave as unhealthy; requiring resync with the master.
Until now you could only invoke this via the CX toolbelt, and the operation would block your stack (both stacks if it was inter-stack replicated), meaning you could not deploy for the duration of the operation.
Now, there is a new "ReSync Slave" button on the PostgreSQL slave server detail pages. Additionally, there is a new asynchronous operation UI that will show the progress of the operation. It's nice and generic... so we will be using it for more stuff going forward!
MEET US AT
KubeCon EU, 2-4 May 2018 in Copenhagen
Meet us at KubeCon & CloudNativeCon Europe. Hear about our experience in running Cloud 66 on containers and Kubernetes, as well as how we use our own products to manage our own stack—including Skycap, our Container Delivery Pipeline. Stop by our booth - SU- C08.
Ret Hat Summit, 8-10 May 2018 in San Francisco
We will be attending Red Hat Summit. Meet us there and let's chat about how Skycap, our Container Delivery Pipeline, can help you on-ramp into OpenShift more efficiently and securely (read more about that here).
Container Days, 18-20 June 2018 in Hamburg
We will be presenting a talk at the Container Days event, where the European container community will gather for three days full of container craziness. Let's get in touch and learn more about Kubernetes and Container Delivery Pipeline.
FounderCon, 21-22 June 2018 in Berlin
Also, as a Techstars alumni, we can't wait to attend Techstars FounderCon Europe. Come and meet us to chat about our journey through frameworks, containers, Kubernetes and more.
Google Cloud Next, 24-26 July 2018 in San Francisco
You can also meet us at Google Cloud Next, and talk about how GKE helped us accelerate our own roadmap (read more about that here).
