Welcome to the Cloud 66 Changelog. Please take a quick look at the latest changes that have gone out this week!

Direct Kubernetes Cluster Access

Advanced Kubernetes users with Maestro stacks can now download their Kubernetes kubeconfig file and use this with kubectl to access the Kubernetes API directly!

Getting Started
A quick start to get you connected:

1. Open the firewall from your location to your master server on port 6443
2. Download the kubeconfig file from your stacks master server page
3. Access you cluster!
$ export KUBECONFIG=/file/path
$ kubectl get nodes

Warning
The kubeconfig file is for advanced usage. It provides direct access to your Kubernetes cluster when you have opened your firewall. If you need to download this file, you should keep it in a secure place! And always only open your firewall judiciously!

Enjoy!

Custom Habitus Parameters

This release adds a new attributue to service.yml to let you pass in extra optional and custom parameters to Habitus. For example, if you need to pass in any build arguments to your Habitus builds, you can now do so by using habitus_params in your service.yml.

An exmple could be habitus_params: "--build FOO=foo --build BAR=_env(BAR).

MEET US AT

AWS Summit, 16-17 July in New York
If you are attending the AWS Summit, or it happens that you are in New York, give us a shout! We would love to meet and chat about Kubernetes ops, container deployment pipelines, and our open source—and how that can supercharge your EKS or Fargate deployments.

ContainerCamp UK, 6-7 September in London
After your well-deserved summer break, meet us at ContainerCamp UK. Ask us about developer tools to bring policy-as-code, configuration, security and secrets management into the container deployment pipeline.

Gartner Catalyst Conference, 26-27 September in London
We are proud to be a silver sponsor of Gartner Catalyst Conference (EU). Stop by our booth to hear how our customers use Skycap as an automated self-service tool for multi-environment Kubernetes, and Maestro for multi-cloud Kubernetes ops.
